Game Summary: The North came up with a big stop late in the fourth to win 27-26. Jason Weldon of McEachern stopped South quarterback Jacques Rumph on fourth down at the 9-yard line with 2:09 left to preserve the narrow margin of victory. The South had 200 yards rushing in the game to only 98 for the North. The Yanks had more success through the air with Mareno Philyaw and Lee Jolley combining for 9/18 for 116 yards. The lead changed hands throughout the game. The South opened the scoring on a 24-yard run by Macon County’s Courtney Williams. Philyaw (the North MVP) answered with a 3-yard run. The South got a touchdown from Edward Mack and Courtney Willliams (the South MVP) added his second touchdown of the half as the South went to the dressing room with a 26-14 lead. The North scored in the third on another short Philyaw run to make it 26-20. Arvin Richard got his second score of the night in the fourth and Chris Chambers’ extra point was the game-winner.
