UPDATE TO RECORD FOR RECEIVING YARDS IN A GAME

Please update the state record for Most Receiving Yards in a Game with the following information:

On September 22, 1967, the Bremen Blue Devils defeated the McEachern indians, 27-6 at home in Bremen. Blue Devil halfback, Dennis Caldwell, caught five (5) passes for 252 yards against McEachern that night. The defense for McEachern only gave up 15 or so yards rushing so, the Blue Devils had to go the air route. Quarterback Eddie Newman passed for 275 yards on eight (8) completions. I witnessed the game as a high school student, but I found confirmation of the numbers in the Marietta Journal's writeup about the game. Caldwell caught three (3) touchdown passes of 82, 76, and 63 yards which set a school record for the most touchdowns receiving in a game that has to date only been tied twice since then.

Thanks!

South Fulton (“Lions”) High School scores

While at the East Point Historical Society I found two yearbooks for South Fulton (“Lions”) High School. The 1958 year book did not have any information on the 1957 or 1958 football games. But it did have the scores for the 1955 season:
Lions -13 ; Price High – 0.
Lions - 13; Greensboro – 12.
Lions - 21; Griffin – 13.
Lions - 14; Carrollton – 0.
Lions - 26; Rome – 0.
Lions - 26; Newman – 8 (maybe spelling error?).
Lions - 26; Decatur – 6.
Lions - 7; Marietta – 0.
Lions - 7; Griffin – 6. District Championship.
Lions - 14; Fort Valley – 7. Regional Championship.
Lions - 26; Dasher High – 13. State A Championship.
In the text it says they won the championship by “defeating Dasher High of Valdosta, Georgia, 26-13”.

The 1975 South Fulton yearbook says, “With a 3-3 season, the Lions went on to make the entire school very proud of them.” There are no scores given.

The next time I am there I can scan either or both of these pages and email them to you if you wish.
