==Game summary==
The first GACA All-Star game looked a lot like Tech v. Lanier as four Smithies and five Poets were in the starting lineup. Clarence “Nub” Welch of Lanier returned a punt 80 yards to put the South ahead 6-0 in the first. GMA’s Johnny Bosch set up the first North score with a 61-yard run to the 9. Jimmy Hilton got the touchdown on a 2-yard line buck and added another 2-yard score to give the North a 12-6 lead at halftime. The Yanks scored insurance touchdowns in the third (Cliff “Truck” Kimsey 2 run) and fourth (Ray Miller 5 run) and Ralph Plaster kicked one extra point. Bosch’s excellent play in the game earned him a
scholarship to Georgia Tech where he had an outstanding career. Leon Culberson of Rome, who would play in the 1946 World Series with the Boston Red Sox, was a substitute halfback for the North.
