==Game summary==
Warner Robins quarterback Bob Davis stole the show from Herschel Walker, completing 8 of 13 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown to lead the South to a 34-7 victory. He was chosen the Offensive MVP. Walker was held to 55 yards on 13 carries and no touchdowns. Dom Blasingame of Bradwell Institute got the South on the board with a 2-yard run and Davis connected with Valdosta’s John Bond to make the score 13-0 at the half. Davis, Jeff Spence, and Willie Ward added scores in the second half. Leonard Jackson of SW Macon was the Defensive MVP. A crowd of 10,000, the largest since the all-star game was resumed in 1974, came to see the much-heralded Walker. “I think I did fair, but I didn’t play up to my potential,” said Walker. North defensive tackle Mark Heninger said, “Nothing against him, but when I hit him I expected more. Mainly, I’d heard so much about his speed until I expected to be trying to tackle a blur.”
