Shamrock High school was established in the early 1960s. In what was at that time a early surge in growth in Central DeKalb County. Other schools like [[Briarcliff]], [[Cross Keys]], [[Henderson]], [[Lakeside (Atlanta)]], [[Sequoyah (Doraville)]] during that time period.
In 1995 Shamrock was converted to a middle school and became a feeder to [[Druid Hills]] High School.
