Lamar 'Race Horse" Davis of Glynn Academy returned an interception 88 yards late in the second quarter to give the South a 6-0 lead at the break. Bill Yearout threw 15 yards to Henry Monsees to tie the score in the third. Paul Brodie connected with Brooker Blanton later in the period and Brodie’s kick put the South up 13-6. GMA’s Sonny Richardson, who signed with LSU, bucked the line in the fourth for the final score. His extra point kick to tie bounced off the goal post and back onto the field. Walter Ruark of Monroe A&M, later an All-SEC guard at Georgia, was in the North lineup.
