Game summary
Valdosta’s Bruce Bennett scored on a quarterback sneak on fourth down in the first quarter and the South led 7-0. Jim Cavan (son of coach) scored from 2 yards out in the fourth. Butch Luke blocked the extra point to tie. The North came close to winning at the end. Gerald Gross fumbled at the goal line and Forrest Inglett recovered in the end zone to save the game for the South. Jim Cavan was chosen the MVP.
