Game summary

North coach Leonard Jones stuck with a formula that had been successful at North Springs–hand the ball to Dennis Whitt. The 215-lb fullback hit the line 35 times for 135 yards and scored the game’s only touchdown on a three-yard run in the third. He was virtually the entire offense for the North. The starting quarterbacks didn’t do very well. The North’s Andy Johnson had one yard rushing on 9 carries and was 0/6 passing. The South’s Dan Golden turned the ball over twice in North territory on a fumble and an interception which led to jeers from the partisan South fans.
