Game summary
North MVP Charles Roberson intercepted a pitchout and returned it 48 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. With the North leading 12-10, the South had the ball first and ten at the North 39 with 5:45 remaining. The officials spotted lightning and the game was halted at that point. Rebel kicker Tonya Butler opened the scoring with a 31-yard field goal. She had a 43-yard attempt blocked to end the first half and was wide left on a 27-yard try in the third. Tonya Butler's older brother Tony Butler played in the 1996 game, making them the only brother/sister combination in the history of the North-South game.
