Bob Sphire/Notes

Background

  • Sphire is originally from Brandenburg, Kentucky and went to Meade County High School. He attended college at Eastern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University.

Coaching career

  • Sphire started his coaching career in his home state of Kentucky. After coaching for two years at Knott County Central, Sphire started the football program at Lexington Catholic High School in 1991. He led the Knights to the playoffs for the 13 straight years and won the Class AAA state championship in 2005.
  • In 2004 and 2005 Sphire was also head coach of the Lexington Horsemen, a United Indoor Football team, where he compiled a 26-9 record and captured the league championship in his first season.
