Central City College was an African-American school in Macon.
History
Central City College was a private school established in 1899 by the Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia.[1] The school's name changed to Georgia Baptist College in 1938.[1]
Central City College offered both high school and college classes.[2] The Georgia Educational Directory last listed the high school as being accredited in its 1939-40 publication as Georgia College Baptist High,[3] though the college itself continued into the 1950s.[2]
Football
Central City College fielded a football team by the mid-1920s and competed for more than a decade.
